Party Dresses!

Just this past weekend a male friend of mine was saying how nice it is that girls have started to dress up more when they go out. And when I thought about it, my closet is full of different party/cocktail dresses, and I really don't go out that often. I happen to love cocktail dresses and am thrilled that they are growing in popularity, but I wonder if this is happening everywhere? Hopefully! So here are some of my favourites, none of which I own (but hope to).I love the Silk Organza dress (left) by Thread Social. It is so sophisticated and I love the clean lines. It is perfect to wear out straight from work. This Marc by Marc Jacobs Kitty Bustier Dress (right) is so chic. It is a little on the formal side, but would look great with a little coloured cardigan to keep it a bit more casual.
I happen to think that Max Azria does the best cocktail dresses out there, and these two BCBG ones are no exception. The cool blue tone is a nice counter to all the pink and yellow florals we're seeing this summer.
I realize I tend to be drawn to neutrals and clean lines and colours, so I thought I'd spice it up a bit with this 60s inspired multi-coloured paisley mini by Tibi and this jewel-toned colour block dress by DKNY. If short dresses aren't your thing, there are these fantastic maxi options, a great Floral from T-Bags and a sophisticated, arts-y look from Chloé.

If only I had more opportunities to wear cocktail dresses!

See by Chloé

I adore Chloé. Love, love, love. And even more than Chloé, I adore See by Chloé. The Chloé girl is the girl I want to be. Case in point, this top: The perfect mix of two of my favourite trends: a ruffled cravat-type detail and colour blocks!

And another piece of perfection, this Clover appliqué dress. The clovers are a nice change from flowers and bows (though i do love bows), and the colour keeps the conservative shape looking young and modern.

And how about this jacquard skirt:I love the way Net-A-Porter.com has styled it into an outfit. Complete with a 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket, Little Joe by Gail Elliott top, Botkier bag and Chloé boots. I am kind of drooling over the boots.

Well, that's it for now. Back to work...

Shhhh...

Don't tell my boss! I'm at work, a very boring job. And I was sitting at my desk not more than fifteen minutes ago, wondering how in the world I was going to get through a summer of this boredom when BAM! It came to me, start a blog! So here I am, blogging away.. and onto my first real post!
